Why not include the time it takes to burn 100 calories on nutrition facts label?
Without getting into much details, most people are not that intelligent so keep it simple keep it stupid, show an average time and effort it takes to burn 100 calories.
Example: run/jog activity
distance: 1 miles
time: 15 minutes
Most people I hear tend to say " Hey, this snack is healthy, only 100 cal and then they eat 3 of them during the day and wonder why they can’t lose weight"
because 100 calories may not be digested completely for energy. 100 kcal or celery will probably give you 20 calories of usable energy, where as 100 kcal of sugar will give you 99 cal of energy. Also it is dependent on body weight… you burn on average 1kcal per 1kg for every 1km traveled by foot.
How many people do you know actually take into account the nutritional facts on a label? I doubt many people even know the percentages are based on a 2,000 calorie diet.
You’re right - we need to “KISS”, and that means this kind of info doesn’t need to be on nutritional labels. If people want to find out how many calories they burn doing X, they can google it.
