That’s awesome…
Amazing … and not one helmet!
haha…I didn’t even notice that.
Wow, and not one Euro-trash Rabobank road “kit” either. Odd. Where are all the posers?
I like the guy who was riding while steering another bike alongside. I guess that kind of thing just happens often there?
ha, i studied abroad there about 5 years back. outside every university building the bike racks looked like a transition area from the 1950’s with all the old-school/crappy bikes lined up…it was pretty amazing. sadly, i didn’t bike at all while i was there.
Standard fare in Amsterdam… Notice only bikes and public transport, hardly any cars. The Dutch consider cycling second nature and would never wear a helmet while commuting. I think that because the Dutch commuter bikes have a very upright riding position the first thing to hit the ground in case of an accident tend to be feet.
On road/tri bikes where you are very much bent forward everybody, even in Holland, wears a helmet ![]()
I don’t think an American Triathlete would be able to live there.
He would first get into a fist fight because he can’t be second at a light, can’t exert his built-in right of way or can’t take it getting “chicked”.
Not to speak of being run over by the bus since he doesn’t understand the complex combination of a yield sign and a light…
In all fairness, it did take those funny people over there a couple of decades to get used to it.
