Nothing like being quoted in an article and having them spell your last name wrong

I was just reading the latest issue of Triathlon Magazine Canada (article “Victoria - A mecca for Triathletes”) and was excited to see a quote that I had said in print then realized that they had spelled my last name wrong. I also liked the article on Dev (Devashish Paul - Thanks, But I’m Good) and it was pretty good and the fact that he has been at it for so long makes me think that if I stick to racing long enough that I will hopefully start to win some races in the higher up age catagories. If I just stay the same speed and get older then I will win at some point I hope.

Don’t feel bad. The local paper in CDA mentioned this guy Mike Evans that got second place…

Like I always say, if you want for people to remember you, you got to win the race!

Try having the last name Thomson. Never, EVER, EVER is spelled right. EVER.

You get used to it

yeah,… what about Johnnyo Johnyo …THERE IS NO FREAKING H… i m french canadian… i dont like the letter H… it s JONNYO

For the last time, there’s no “h” in Jonathan!!!

Then why is there an “h” in your email address???

Jodi

oh…dont try to be smart here… my email adress is what it is… now keep quiet Thompson

“I was just reading the latest issue of Triathlon Magazine Canada”

Good thing you don’t get it by subscription. I’m still waiting for my copy.

The sad part is that I did get it by subscription. So I subscribe to their publication and they still spell my name wrong. I know that they are not linked but I find it funny.

BTW - It just came in the mail today.

yeah,… what about Johnnyo Johnyo …THERE IS NO FREAKING H… i m french canadian… i dont like the letter H… it s JONNYO
But the question remains –

Is it Jonny - O, Jonn - Yo, or Jonny-uh.

You introduced yourself as merely Jonathan when we met at IMCDA. So, I’m still trying to figure out the french nickname thing.

It was nice meeting you!!! i always introduce myself as Jonathan but no one actually call me by that name… everyone use nickname like; jonny, john, pinnapplejonny or PJ, Fudgy or fudge, jonnyo, ironjohn… so, with all these names… i had to take one for my email and one for my slowtwitch name… i took jonnyo… and dont want a H in it for no reason…

as for what is it… it s JONNYO…nothing else, nothing hiden… just jonnyo…

everyone use nickname like; jonny, john, pinnapplejonny or PJ, Fudgy or fudge, jonnyo, ironjohn…
You forgot “dumbass”…

You forgot “dumbass”…

Don’t you mean “smartass”

I know this is an old post but I swear I sent in the name correctly…but my apologies anyways.

Brian

After Rockman 07 the local paper got the name of Jordan Heimer a local finisher wrong three times - THREE WAYS!

Himer
Himen
Hymer

All in one freaking story!!!

Got to love “the media”

That is not the only thing they got WAY WAY wrong.

and yet people take what they read/hear in the media as truth. I have been misquoted on a number of times, including leaving out the “not” in a sentence which total reversed its meaning.

I don’t know how many times I read posts that mis spell Bonness. Bones, Boness, Bonnes, etc. No worries, I know who they mean. I have a hard time remembering people’s names, much less spell them correctly.

You are absolutely right Bryan, that totally sucks.
