will be staying in Cashiers, so something fairly close by would be preferred. we’ve both been once or twice when we were much younger, so we’re not TOTAL beginners. but we ain’t experts either! which river, what company? thanks in advance!

I’m not real sure where Cashiers is, but Western NC has tons of rafting. NOC is a good place to go with, as they have several rafting sites. A good “beginner” (class II/III rapids) is at the Nantahala Outdoor Center just west of Tsali (maybe an hour, hour point five west of Asheville). Then, stop at Tsali and get in some rad mountain biking.
