NordicTrack Elite Zi Treadmill Help

Hey guys, I have a NordicTrack Elite Zi treadmill (model NTL11808.0) that stopped working.

Wife was on it and she pressed the stop button, but it wouldn’t stop. She pulled the magnetic switch, and it stopped. Now it lights up, but it doesn’t do anything else. Pressing any button does nothing, no beeps, no actions.

The pulse sensors still register, the speed registered (when I manually push it).

I think before, when the switch was pulled, then placed back, turned on, it would immediately reset the incline back to zero, before it would start the treadmill.

I have tried with the switch off, press the stop & speed up buttons, replace switch which is supposed to put it into calibrate mode, but nothing.

Anyone have any clues? any techs out there?

Before my wife wants a new unit.

edit: I just noticed it is my 11th year on here today!!

I would try getting a stronger magnet, like a very small rare-earth magnet, or maybe even a spoke magnet and see if it does the trick. I know the magnet has to be strong enough to pull a switch (through plastic), and sometimes those magnetic switches get weak.

I was working on the car, and then out of town…

Anyway, I did what you suggested. It is working again.
