Nordic Ski - Cross Conditioning Clinic

Since it’s officially the off-season, I’ve decided to offer a Nordic Ski Clinic for cross training multisport athletes. We’ve all talked about how great Cross Country skiing is for winter workouts, now is your chance to learn how.

I’m offering the clinic to provide a service to fellow multi-sport athletes that want to learn how to Nordic Ski.

When: Saturday, January 7, 2006, or if enough people want, on Sunday, January 15 (Martin Luther King weekend)

**Where: ** Gold Run Nordic Area, Breckenridge Colorado.

Cost: $10 plus your trail pass and rentals if you need them.

**The Details: ** Totally flexible: Typically we would work on Classic Skiing in the morning , Discussions at lunch, and Skating in the afternoon. But that depends on what people’s goals are. I also plan on having waxing demos, Clothing-Layering discussions, and a Ski tech rep for ski discussions.

Who I am: I’m a fully certified PSIA (Professional Ski Instructor of America) Nordic Instructor, Telemark Instructor, Backcountry Ski Instructor, Ironman Finisher, and Long Course Team USA Member.

OPTIONS: If your’re from out of town, we could also ski on Sunday, and if you’d really want the quad-burn – We could go over to Arahapoe Basin Ski Area (Where I also teach) and I could teach you how to Telemark Ski.

Great idea, maybe someone in the mid-atlantic can do the same when get some snow this winter? White Grass in WV is pretty good for us in the mid-atlantic.

Dave - FYI: Southwest Airlines has just started to fly into Denver, they are offering some great deals.

Conditions in Colorado are great both in the Areas and in the Nordic Centers.

As far as VA or WVA, check with some of the ski shops. I taught cross country skiing in the Marines and we trained near morgantown WVA.

Just tell them you are interested in cross country skiing, also throw in that fact that you are a tri guy and you might get a better response.

FYI: I just talke with a local shop that carries Rossi skiis, he committed to some great schwag for the clinic.
