NorCal vacation & ClearLake Tri101 Recon questions

I am thinking about going on a long-weekend vacation in the Fall with my wife and am looking for some suggestions on where to stay, what to do and maybe some good restaurant suggestions. Some comments to help frame my ideal trip are:

  1. within short driving or riding distance of ClearLake Tri101 bike course (which I don’t think has been revealed yet)
  2. good nearby MTBing
  3. nice restaurants and wineries nearby
  4. lodging in a resort or B&B would be cool

How is Ukiah? Anything worthwhile there? How about Lakeport, Kelseyville or ClearLake?

Thanks,
Matt

Lakeport was a nice little town and there were some decent looking motels along the water. Katy and I stopped in a few of them to collect info when we were doing our run. And, you are right on the bike course. Good Mexican restaurant on the water too.

Yeah, about that- those cards kind of got washed with the jersey. Oops.

Thanks for the info!

Know of any cool places in neighboring Mendocino county? It might be a trip for my wedding anniversary so I’m thinking something nicer than a motel (unless it is one sweet motel). I think I recall reading about B&Bs in people’s ClearLake Tri101 race reports…can anyone comment? Or perhaps a vineyard with a nice B&B or inn?

Matt

Sorry, don’t know anything about Mendocino at all.

Doing a search, it looks like there are a few B&Bs. I remember seeing a couple of them.
