Non-wetsuit swim & desoto

Hi all,

I’m looking for advice… I’m doing a long distance race this weekend and there is a chance the swim will be non-wetsuit. I prefer to wear my DeSoto compression race shorts (with the 4 pockets on the sides), but am concerned with an increase in drag, from water getting caught in the pockets…

does anyone have any experience with this situation? unfortunately, there is a good chance I will not a chance to try them out on my own prior to the race.

thanks,

kas

Pockets will definitely slow you down. Wear your jammers over your tri shorts and rip them off at T1.

thanks I<3speed. never even thought of something as simple as that!

That is why Desoto makes the Liftfoil Speedsuit (and other brands make their speedsuits). There is no buoyancy, so they don’t count as wetsuits but they do streamline everything so you can still swim in your tri suit and wear the speedsuit overtop of it.
