I am getting used to my new B2 and am enjoying it despite a few annoying things. The tektro brake levers make A LOT of noise! Really there are two kinds - there is a loud rattling when I’m holding onto them going over rough spots on a road, and there is REALLY LOUD rattling when not holding on to them and going over rough spots on the road. Is this common with other people riding these same brake levers? It really gives the entire bike a rickety feel - like its about to fall apart. Pretty annoying.
You might need to tighten the pivot bolts…
Yes, I would have tried that, unfortunately I don’t have 2 3mm hex keys. Silly design if you ask me. You buy a complete set of metric and english hex keys thinking to yourself… “well I got that hex key problem solved for the rest of my life.” Apparently not.
I’m going to take it back to the shop to have a once over before I race this weekend.
It seems that these brake levers are just cheap and noisy. Any idea what the least amount of money I could spend and get brake levers that won’t annoy the shit out of me?
