So this guy today was coughing up chuncks of phlegm during the pre-race meeting. Hundreds of barefoot people were around, and this guy was leaving slimy, goopy chunks of his lung on the asphalt! Then he sprinkled the lake water with the stuff before the swim start! Have you ever seen anything worse???

I was right beside the guy- it was hideous. It was in the middle of the pre-race meeting. He didn’t just cough and spit. He coughed, hacked, and gargled until he had an entire mouthful, then just let er fly. Uuuuggh. I’m surprised someone didn’t slip in the goo. I’m still recovering from the sight!
What a great race otherwise, except the kelp farm that we had to swim thru. I wonder if jack cultivated it just for the race to make it harder.
Reminds me of a guy I raced a relay with last year. He ran barefoot and came back with horrible blisters and bloody feet. He goes and stands in the wading pool where they have drinks icing for the participants.
Some people are so clueless/thoughtless.
