I had to draft and be drafted as I had no idea where I was going : )
That big dude could have dropped me in about 1 second. I’m old, he’s young, and probably fast as hell!!

Perhaps they could tell that you could not distinguish the plural from the possessive?
And don’t even get me started on BMW drivers!
LOL as soon as I read the post was thinking sounds like BMW drivers. Also love how this thread got hijacked.
yeah I used to spend waaay too much on cars
now I spend waaay to much on bikes =)
Sounds like nice cars. I had a Supra and mini van b4 my expidition now a 525xi which I love. I did have a 66 GTO conv. with a 389 tri manifold and his and her shifter . Which I guess the beamer has (the his and hers)also. Sold when I bought first house GOD I miss that GTO! Found it in front of a junk yard near the delaware river. The tide would come in and out of it each day. the guy told me it was sitting there 6 months. Floor completely rotted. Strange enough frame was good and the trunk even better. Buddy had a illegal body shop so we fixed up pretty much. As much as 18 year olds could. Bondo and straight dulux paint. Back in 85 you could not find parts like you could today. They only made a little patch panel for the quartr. You could surf down the driver side quarter it was so wavy. Think that quarter panel was 7 1/2’ to 8’ long and it was all bondo. I could still tell you everywhere that year car will go bad. By the way I like the weight to protect the kids I totaled one bmw already with a kid in it. We are all alive so it worked!
Why do you care if they are behind you? Someone can suck my wheel all day, could care less.
You’ve obviously never had someone run into the back of your wheel and gone flying over your aerobars onto the side of the road. And then of course had to buy new bars and a new back wheel. Oh and all the healing of bruises and road rash too. I now HATE it when people I don’t know suck my wheel…
I had a training buddy tell me he was in full aero going about 30 miles per hour, just getting it, when a guy pulled along side, sitting up, on a road bike, with his hands on the tops. Said, HI, then proceeded to pull away without any problem. Thats when you feel like picking up your TT bike, and throwing it into a lava field : ) and never cycling again : )
That was me on the road bike, and your friend was exaggerating. He was only doing 25mph. And I said, “Hi, nice bike.” as I went by.
The worst are people I pass on a training ride, who then sit on my wheel for a few miles and then try to attack. If they wanna draft, cool. If they wanna share the pace, cool. If they wanna attack someone, do a race. I usually catch them on the next hill anyway, if they were faster than me I wouldn’t have caught them in the first place.
What no pictures.

Why can’t we all be friends? When people come up on me I LET them draft, then OFFER to let them pull. That way we both go faster, it’s fun and you might make a friend.
If they start being jerky or attack, I just drop them, on my cervelo, of course ![]()

“Someone can suck my wheel all day, could care less.”
Technically speaking, isn’t it** “couldn’t care less”?**

Yes, but I am a good cyclist and THEY crash, not me. The guy in front often does not crash when wheels cross. As a matter of fact, in the rare times I am on someones wheel I try to scrub their rear wheel with my front wheel - it is a game.
But alas, most Tri folks cant hold their line if it is painted on the road for them (and often the line is painted on the road). They have no idea how to handle small bumps and knocks with out rabid panic and crashes. That, I think is most of the reason Tris are no drafting…average Tri folks in a Peloton are just plain dangerous.
You know that your drag drops when you’ve got a rider up close and personal behind right?
It is generally considered to be good form to ask if you can sit on someone’s wheel as if they stop suddenly and you aren’t paying attention, you’re both screwed.
Umm, well if said cyclist hit your wheel and endoed into your back wheel and his bars lodged in your spokes, then your back wheel would stop and you would go flying over your aero bars. So good riding does not always prevent a crash. Especially if you are hit from behind.
what a beauty - I love my aluminum soloist
