So I am out for a recovery ride today probably only doing about 13-15mph and the next thing I know I have a pack of 4 riders on my ass. There is virtually no traffic on the road so I am just waiting for them to pass me which is fine. Instead of passing me they sit on my ass for the next 5 miles. At this point I’m getting totally pissed when all of a sudden I hear them say lets “blow this dude away.” So on the next downhill these 4 all of which are on nice brand new Cervelo’s go flying by and cut right in front of me as well and go speeding by. Funny thing is I caught up on the next uphill riding my beater 7 year old cannondale. It makes me glad I got rid of my P3 as it is beginning to appear that it is now trendy for many well off arrogant people to purchase a Cervelo thinking that the bike itself will somehow make them masters of the roadie riding univerise. Its probably safe to ride a litespeed again.
Yeah, its the Cervelo that made these people assholes. Were they also wearing Assos? Man, I can’t stand Assos-wearing, Cervelo-riding assholes…
Spot
well it figures that they would blow by you on the downhill.
those bikes have very little aero drag!
=)

There’s a lot wrong with this story that makes me not believe it.
-
STer’s never “ride 13-15mph” (even newbs)
-
Cervelos can’t go “13-15mph”, they fall over going that slow.
-
No sane person would ever get rid of a P3 unless it was to buy a P4 and then he would be riding that, not a C’dale.
-
What are the chances of 4 people riding together “all” having Cervelos?
Why do you care if they are behind you? Someone can suck my wheel all day, could care less.
And don’t even get me started on BMW drivers!

No, the bikes didn´t make them assholes but the users/owners affect other people perception of the brand. Basic marketing.
dude and especially the ones who drive a 3 series…its like come on bro…its only a 3 series
.
The 3 series is the best one!
well it was until they made it as big and heavy as the 5 series!
All four of those guys were me.
huge
.
Aww, don’t be hatin’!!!
I ride a P3 and wear Assos, but only during races. Am I off the hook? (BTW I have Zipps on my P3. Am I still off the hook?)
Busted… Everyone knows that Chuck Norris is the only one that can morph himself in to 4 separate people!
Damn! Beat me to it!
And Jackmott - IMO they stopped making BMWs with the E30 M3. 1973 2002 Turbo, the ultimate.
Just HIT THE BRAKES. it is amazingly effective and a whole bunch of fun. Not leaving enough room between you and the moving vehicle in front of you is just…plain…stupid.
Why were you pissed they were riding behind you? As long as they’re not right on your ass, it shouldnt matter no?
I still like the E36 as well.
A bit portly compared to the E30, but they lighten up REAL easy. Remove the full size spare, remove the extra large battery and put a small one in, replace the 100 pound seats with light ones…
and suddenly it is under 3000lbs!
With a better rear suspension =)
Damn! Beat me to it!

Yeah, guess I was a little critical. My dream car is actually an M3 E36 Sedan - but it still is portly no matter what you do…although the race version was amazing.
Also - the E36 M3 Lightweight. They were giving them away at the time, actually saw one on the road in Boston (circa 1997ish). Kickin’ myself for not buying one since I had the means at the time.
First car was an 1802 (Germany) and owned a fully restored 2002 which I sold for my wife to go to grad school for a bunch of $ (I bought it as a sunny days and dates car when I was in college). Now she goes crazy if I want a bike for 1/3 the price of my toy car 15 years ago. Go figure…
If you like lightweight nimble cars, and want something newer than an E30
I recommend the Toyota MR-Spyder
they are epic!

Just looked at a new Audi S5 today, that car is sick.
