NIU today...being at the other side

Had a 4pm meeting today with a number of surgeons. Thorasic, Vascular, General, and some others…about 4ish at the same moment all of their pagers went off and it was a sort of comedy to me that they all reached for their hip…they all by the looks on their faces knew better. They all said they had to leave and pretty much ran out of the room…

On the way out I saw three helicopters at the hospital as opposed to the usual one, one was even landed in a parking area…

Got into the car and heard the news…

Knowing each of these men on a personal level for the past number of years…I know with out doubt that the victims from NIU are in the best hands possible.

It is very nice to know those kids are in good hands.

As a Va. Tech grad, I know and sympathize with what that whole community is going through.

It’s a terrible situation all around…

It seems even more numbing the 2nd time around. I’m a grad of Tech as well, and live a mile from NIU. I wanted to say something to the poor kids who were eating in the same restaurant last night, but had no good words. Right now, its just saddening.
