Nike Ironnun commercial

I considered buying the Phenom 2-in-one shorts but the competitive brooks and saucony shorts (yes, they make a short with the compression shorts built in too) are $25 less expensive. They are hard to find, usually on the sale rack or tucked away somewhere weird in Dick’s Sporting Goods but they do exist. I wonder, have you run in both and if you have, is it worth more money to buy the Nike shorts?

I have a pair of the Brooks & the compression short is a lot shorter & it rides up into my crotch. This is the same issue I have when running in shorts with briefs liners (which is why I prefer the 2-in-1 compression shorts). I will have to try the Saucony shorts out.

The biggest advantage I have found with the Nike Phenom is that the compression short is longer and stays put. The biggest problem I have found with the Phenom is Nike actually makes several versions of the short of varying quality, but they don’t advertise this. You have to know what you are looking for to know the difference. Also, the 5" is hard to find. It seems everyone stocks the 7" & 9" versions & those are like running in basketball shorts.

EDIT: It looks like the Saucony Interval only comes in an 8" inseam, so for me, that’s a non-starter.
EDIT 2: It looks like the Brooks Sherpa 5" is redesigned since the pair I bought a few years back. I may give them another shake.
