Night light for aerobars?

Can anyone suggest a flashlight that can be attached to some Oval aerobars? I want to Bike Commute two days each week, this fall and winter (It doesn’t snow here), but I won’t ride at night without a light source.

Any suggestions will be very helpful.

Try using a helmet mount. Its a great alternative when you have aerobars.

I was thinking about a helmet mount. My neck is pretty weak, but it’s certainly an option I hadn’t considered. If I use a helmet mount, weight definitely becomes an issue.

Any suggestions on an ultralight helmet mounted headlamp would also be very appreciated.

I have a Petzl Tikka, but I’m not really sure it’s versatile or strong enough to work on a bike.

Thanks for the advice,

Jason

Here’s another way to go. Take the helmet mount and instead of velcro-ing it to your helemt, wrap it around your aerpbar extensions. I’ve done it that way and it works great.

Some have a twisting mount that you can put on the aerobar itself and hang it below. The helmet might be the best.

if your aerobars are level or slightly pointed down any light with a pivoting head will work. Most high end lights pivot 180 degrees. Just clamp it to the aerobar extension. No room on the base bar I’m guessing… I’ve used a Princeton Tech 1watt LED headlamp (real similar to your tika but waaaaaay brighter) around my helmet. A tie-wrap or velcro strap on the front to hold it in place and the elastic aroun the helmet. Light and it works great. Plus it’s cheap and bright!
