NFL vs USAT

Ugh,

Where did USAT get theior self importance from. I had no idea that they want 30K from a city to hold nationals. A race that got well less than a thousand entrants last year.

This after they want over $100K (I think that was the number) to let the Clermont Hospital name their rehab center the tri national training center.

Some how I think someone looks at the money and clout that sking, figure skating, track and field, etc has and wants to be part of the party. It just not happening, at least not for a long time.

This explains why nationals are so far a no go. They say they want a first class race, but they are much more interesting in making a buck than putting on a race.

It’s cachet, bay-bee. For various reasons, I’ve never went to Nationals, but I hear generally good things about it from the ones who do. And I imagine the town or city makes a nice buck from all those triathletes who descend on it and drop a huge wad of cash on just about everything.

That’s why I’m bidding on Ebay for a '92 Dave Scott Centurion Ironman. It’s going to be my protest bike at the races this year

T.

I think the cities are wise to the game though. Really how much revenue is going to be generated by 800 athletes?
