Next TT

My next TT:
Park in Petersburg School Parking Lot.

Many of you have been asking if the new course is a challenging as the course in Philomath. Well, we have tried our best, but the final decision is up to you! The new course will be a 30K, and though you might wish for that extra 10K right now, if the wind is up, you will be kissing my boots by the finish!

The route starts just out from the Petersburg School driveway on Fifteen Mile Road. It continues east for just under 10.5 miles. The course in this section follows a chip seal paved two lane country road. It has three short steeper rollers at approximately miles 3, 6, and 8-none more than 3/10’s of a mile in length, most averaging 5%. However, most of this section is 0-3%. You should also have a tailwind.

The first turn is a right hand turn onto Kelly Cut-Off. This turn marks the first significant climb of the route. This climb is .8 of a mile long and averages 6-7%. The road flattens for a 20mph curve (a short flat of .2 of a mile) and then climbs again for .6 of a mile–average grade 5%. You will then have a descent into an intersection, through which you will continue straight. Straight up a hill, which is short but steep. The climb is .4 of a mile long, but has a quick rise to almost 9%. You will then have a 3 mile rolling descent, which, though windy (as in the wind will be a headwind) should be fast.

At the bottom of this descent you will merge onto Eightmile road. This section is also relatively flat (nothing more than 1-2%). You will turn right at just under 18 miles, charge up a mean little hill ( very short, but about 6%) and finish just where you started, some 18.6 miles ago.

Any other questions, please send me an email.
