Newton Distance vs Distance S

Is there much difference?
What is it?
I have been running Distance S for a long time now but they have a good deal on the Distance that I might choose if my feet / legs won’t know the difference …

One is for people who’s feet pronate (the Distance S) and the other is for neutral runners (Distance). That is what Newton calls their “Stability” models.

Thanks.
Sounds like it might not be a good idea to tinker.

I ran a lot of miles in a pair of Distance. Got a pair of Distance S and immediately did not love them. It was a very different feel for me.

As an aside, if you are a size 8.5, I have a pair of Newton Distance S (2013?) with about four runs in them that I would like to get rid of for cheap.

Need size 9 but thanks for the offer.
Thanks for the responses as well.
Sounds like the one letter “S” could mean a lot.

Do you know if you pronate? If not there is a easy home test you can take to determine this.

And you are right, picking the wrong version will result in lots of pain and agony (other than the normal running kind).

If it’s this years model, five lug, then the only difference is the Extended Medial Bridge (EMB). It’s just a slightly broader platform around under the arch area, besides that it’s the same shoe.

I have a normal medium arch. I’ve run in both the neutral and stability model. I ended up running exclusively in the S model. I just like the way it feels, a bit more firm, with a bit more lateral support. This feels great when I’m doing upwards of 8 to 10 miles on any given day (my limit is half marathon distances).
