I would say half the status update over on Facebook are about the weather- “Freezing today and on the trainer” or “Sunny and 70 and rode with Shorts” OK we get it. If you are in the south of North America - it’s warm and nice. If you are north of the Mason-Dixon line, for the most part it’s snowy and cold. It’s winter. It’s what it does. It’s been this way for . . . a very long time.
Personally, I actually like a good snowy and cold winter, which is what we are having in Southern Ontario. Keeps life interesting. Keeps you on your toes. It’s built in variety in what you do and in your training. If it was sunny and 70 every day I think I would get bored of that.

exactly…I love the winter and I don’t even ski or Ice fish. Maybe its because I have scandinavian blood or because I lived in AZ for 6 years and predictable weather is boring…Snow is fun and cold weather makes you appreciate spring/summer/fall much more…

We have been well. In keeping with the thread - We have been enjoying winter. Seriously. The cross-country skiing has been amazing and MissP has been putting in some amazing, long winter runs. She’s in the best running fitness that she has ever been in at this time of the year - despite record snow and cold. Winter never slows us down!
Make sure you pack a Tuque for Cleveland!

should I let you all know? it is supposed to be -20 tomorrow morning, and I’ve already burned a fair amount of goodwill borrowing a car to get back and forth to work the past two days.
I’m fine with training in cold weather - in fact, running is one of the only ways I can generate enough heat to be comfortable outdoors, and it provides an enjoyable release from cabin fever.
I do, however, reserve the right to complain about roads and sidewalks that are covered in uneven layers of slush and ice for days or weeks on end.
Well, I ain’t complaining. It’s about 80 degrees F and sunny here in SD!
I love having summer in January! Maybe I’ll go to the beach this weekend…
Just got back from running on previously described icy roads and sidewalks. Fell once, just after crossing at a busy intersection - plenty of spectators.
Just thinking . . . isn’t Pose Running supposed to enable you to run across skating rinks? Maybe I should check it out.
If the southerners have a right to throw their good weather up in every one’s face, then we mid-westerners have a right to bitch about our lousy weather. What I resent is the people that complain about weather that isn’t bad. Last week in Naw 'leans they were complaining about it being oh so cold. It was 48! Hell, that’s shorts weather!
Heat wave here in NorCal. It has been in high 70’s so far this week and breaking records every day. Just got back from lunch time ride wearing just shorts and a very thin long sleve jersey. Beautiful blue sky, minimal wind and great visibility of surrounding mountains. We really need rain though so enough of this or the Vineman will need to fill the river with a really big hose…
