Newbie - Merida Warp 5 2013 rear brakes

Newbie question here!

I have a Merida Warp 5 2013 frame and I’m wondering what type of rear brake calipers I can use.
A friend of mine says that I can only use a center pull while another says I can use a side pull.

Any ideas? Unfortunately, there are no shops in my country that carry center pull calipers so my only option is to buy online.

One of my frames has a very similar setup, and needs a very narrow side pull brake, or a center pull brake.
I wound up using a Simkins Egg Brake. It is a very small and narrow side pull brake that will clear the crank arms.
