New Zipp Hub - Advantages?

I’m not sure I understand the advantages of the angled spokes in the new Zipp hub (Interbike Day 2, Photo 13/20). Sure, it makes sense if it’s the rear drive wheel, or if the hub is torqued with a disc brake. But, I believe photo 13 shows a FRONT wheel, with NO disc brake. So, what was the thinking there?

One solution I thought of was that they were trying to keep the mass tight to the axis, and yet allow larger bearings, so they angled the spokes to reduce the diameter. But that’s just a guess.

Caption says it’s a rear wheel.

Ah, right, missed that. SMH
