New York City Marathon Homestay?

Would you, or someone you know, be willing to host my wife and I Friday Oct 31 - Sunday Nov 2nd until after the race?

I am running the NYC Marathon and would be eternally grateful if I could find a homestay for 2 nights. My wife and I are scheduled to fly into Laguardia on Friday Oct 31 at 12:42pm. My hope is that we can find a place to stay Friday and Saturday night. After the race on Sunday we plan to check into a hotel for the remainder of our stay. Finding a homestay would greatly reduce our travel expenses. Please PM me if you are interested in helping out two desperate midwesterners who have never been to NYC. Thank you!

Monday Bump.

check airbnb.com for nyc for cheap accommodations if all else fails.

Good luck to you, but I think it could be tough. Assuming you’d want to stay in Manhattan? Could be like finding needle in haystack - someone with an apartment large enough (read: extra bedroom) who would let you and your wife crash there.

My advice: have you looked in Brooklyn at hotels? For example, just did a quick search on booking.com - La Quinta Inn Downtown Brooklyn is $380 total for two nights in question, breakfast included. Basically in Park Slope, near Prospect Park…which is awesome (most out-of-towners don’t know it.). Just a subway ride into Manhattan. And you’d actually be closer to starting line (although not sure of transport).

Anyway - good luck with your home stay pursuit…

Thanks for the information I’ll check it out.

Thanks for the information I’ll check it out. Staying in Manhattan is not mandatory…so this could be a great option.

I know someone in my neighborhood that has a large apartment that could use the rent money. If you’re interested in 187st street in Manhattan by Fort Tryon Park, DM me with how much you can afford a night.
