Looks a lot like the 305. I like that, the 405 is garbage compared to the 305. A waterproof 305 would be outstanding I can’t wait! I hope they have a different color.

Not another one! I’ve had the 201 (lost it, but loved it for a couple years), 305 (loved it as well but it stopped working after a year and a half), and now the 405 (my favorite yet… although the light doesn’t work anymore).
Maybe this one will be a little more durable? I really like the smaller size of the 405 and this one does look quite a bit larger.
There were a few threads on this back in January/February. Let’s hope it happens!

looking at it, it looks like they have just upped the housing and battery to meet the new spec… the display looks the same as the FR305… which will hopefully mean a solid Firmware from the start.
looks like no real mapping (or colour display) which is cool as the Edge705 i just bought is still needed for my biking! 
oooooh i hope april means april, as my forerunner305 beep has stopped beeping at me and i like it to do that

it looks a bit smaller than the FR305
does it come in other colours than the horrid orange/grey combo? (i really like the look of the FR60)
It’s awful looking. It reminds me of a watch I owned in the 90’s… This surely looks like a step backwards. I would say that a smaller form factor device like the 405 would be much better (water-proofed of course).

i’m interested in milkywaye’s question, anyone know if it will realy hit the stores in April? My 305 (which I love with the exception of not being waterproof) just died after 2+ years…need to re up but would gladly wait 3 weeks for this…
By any chance would you have any guess of price range for the new tech???

From someone who is in" The Industry" these pictures should not have been posted. At the time it was probably cool to post them. A rep from Garmin had confidence in the staff of his retailer to give them a sneak preview, as Robert Deniro would sort of say in Meet the Fockers, this broke the circle of trust. We can show, prepare retailers about new product in order to adjust inventory levels, place some items on sales etc. It was a rookie mistake
