My name is Diego Monge, I’m 24 years old, I’m Costa Rican, new in this community so I’m a little lost surfing throught the site.
I started doing tri 2 years ago, I have done 3 races, two of them on a road bike and one in my MTB bike. I had a Fuji Roubaix Pro road bike that I recently sold because I want to buy the 2009 or 2010 Trek Equinnox 7… Do you think this is a good change?
I do not have much experience in triathlon so any advised would be greatly appreciated.
I also have this question, my heigth is 1.70 meters and I was told a 52 size frame will work for me, is it really the correct size for me for a Tri bike frame geometry such as the Equinoxx 7?
I had a trek ttx 9.5 Which is pretty much the same bike as the 7 except for carbon. The bike will fit alot of differnt people. If your average build it should be ok. It best to get fitted at your local bike store. The bike isnt really steep which I really liked. Any tri specific bike from a road bike will be good for you. One you probably will want to ride it more since its new and you will be put in a more aerodynamic position. My olympic times went from 2:39 to 2:23 switching from a road bike to a tri bike. You can throw in there a change in fitness and practicing transitions. The thing I really enjoyed about the trek was I could really almost fall asleep and it would still go straight. Im not a fan of there customer service department though. My road bike was a 56cm and I rode a small(54 I think) trek ttx. Hope this helps and enjoy the ride!
