I am in need of a new seat for my tri bike. Wondering if there are some that are better than others when it comes to a tri vs. road bike???
Thanks in advance.

Check out the SanMarco tri gel Azoto and Tri gel Aspide models. I don’t know if they still make it but another one I like is the Serfas Dual Density Pro. Any of these can be enhanced with a neoprine cover from Quintana Roo or DeSoto Sports.
See the Aspide here: http://www.sellesanmarco.com/pagine_prodotti/aspidet.asp
Check out Dan’s review and comments on the San Marco Azoto with a search of this site.
Also check out the review of the Azoto at:

Be sure to check out some of Tom D’s other’s articles and reviews at Bikesportmichigan. It’s a great site.
Seats are kind of hard to recommend. Lot of posters here appear to like the padded seats, with padded covers and heavily padded shorts. I have never had the need for all of that. I like my Koobi (what ever their split tri seat is), but my “I need padding” buddies have complained when they have tried my bike. Kind of a personal thing.
I tried the azoto, but thought the fizik alliante was actually more comfortable. saddles are very personal, but I’d recommend you not limit yourself to a “tri” specific saddle, and give the fizik a try.
the pave is a completely different saddle from the alliante. the alliante’s shell is made of carbon fiber, it was designed to have a fair amount of flex in certain places. it also has a thin layer of padding running up through the tip of the nose, making it comfortable to ride “on the rivet”. It’s probably about 6 pounds lighter than the pave too. ![]()
