New Trek Speed Concept

Highly recommend the wattworx varia mount. He’s local to me and modeled the mount design off of my speed concept.

I’ve had a few for other bikes from Etsy and his are hands down the nicest I’ve even seen, and fit the best.

Yes!!!
Will’s mount is far superior than the mount from Neat Components.
I use both on different bikes, but the Wattworx is nicer, clamps the seat post better, and is much more sturdy.
I also recommend his Sram wireless blip mounts for the aerobar extensions. I prefer them over the Leap Component ones because of their better ergonomics.

Also - for us US based folks no issues with import taxes that our new administration has now forced on almost everything. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I ordered a varia mount from neat components a while back and it got stuck in customs. Never could get my hands on it and just gave up. Ended up reaching out to Will to see if he could make one for the SpeedConcept after finding him on instagram.

Anyone fitted one of these or similar
Wanting to put a gel flask on the top tube

Geez $90 for a piece of plastic. Should be easy enough to 3D print. Cool idea though if you don’t use the bento box.

Anyone making a BTA adapter for a second bottle to go on top of their integrated bottle on their stock front end yet?

Just got mine today, as I’m using liquid nutrition on longer races. Haven’t mounted it though.

@DavidNeu cool
What u gunna mount on it ?

The integrated bottle comes as stock with a mount (and the hardware) for a second bottle cage on top. Given the astronomical cost of it then it bloody ought to have come with a butler that runs alongside refilling itself, but this was an appreciated bonus I’d not fully expected.

Edit to add - shows here the bottle, the rubber cover and the bit it should have come with that is the mount that you put a cage on.

I have a Cervelo 500ml aero bottle that fits nicely on it. The cage has a nice matching curve to it where it mounts.

@DavidNeu cool
Can u post a pic when u mount it
Thanks

So I got the fast tt mount to cover the bento box that allows me to bolt the gel bottle to the top tube
Not very aero AT ALL
Anyone know of a option to take out the bento box and bolt something like this inside the bento box area
The bottle itself almost fits in the bento but not quite but would if the bento box was removed and replace with something u could put a biddon mount in there to attach it too

Not trying to be an ass here, but at this point why don’t you just stuff the gels into the bento box :joy:

If you could somehow use a Wolf Tooth B-RAD to mount another cage under your current BTA cottle that might work? If you’re using the AeroCoach BTA mount you should be able to get a 3D printed 15 or 20 degree shim to level that existing bottle out, and hopefully mount another below and behind it.

Very similar to what I’ve done with my Sync front end (you could also just run a 500ml bottle with the flow gel):

Yes lol , be good if she could but 18 gels don’t fit into the bento
What bracket have u used there in your pic

Edit to add pic of BTA bottle

It’s the three-slot mounting base from Wolf Tooth Components:

The mounting plate between the stack spacers is home-made from some carbon fiber pre-preg with an 80mm 3D printed spacer on top. Then the B-RAD get sandwiched between the spacer and top bottle cage.

I hear you. I managed to get 8 or 10 in there I think, but what I’ve done before (other bento box) is a mix of either refilling from special needs (whilst also grabbing bottle of concentrate drink), or in T1 then chucking a ziplock bag of gels into each pocket and then moving them to the bento on a convenient straight bit of the road around halfway (generally not at halfway of a 2 lapper as that’s where all the crowds / technical bit of the course is).

Can you mount the bottle backwards, so the blunt end is facing back?

@giventotri , yeah i think so , but havnt tried yet , if i do go down that route id do it that way
hoping to find a better option though
