New Training Cranks - Is a discussion in order?

Frank, why don’t you patent the process of riding a bicycle with independent cranks, which you have invented. This seems like it would be a far more “all encompassing” patent. As mentioned, this would be like Scott patenting the concept of riding a bike in the aero position (from what I understand, their patent was not for the original Scott DH aerobar, but for the position that it put the rider in).

Actually, I have applied for another patent that involves, in part, a method of training - but that goes to my next follow-on machine. Perhaps ready for primetime in 3-5 years, when I have time and money to develop it. We have also incorporated some of those ideas into some of the non-us patents but independent cranks is not unique. There were other patents out there that did this, just not in the simple way I did and not intended to train the athlete. These are discussed in the prior art section of the patent.
