New to the mp3 player thingy!

I just bought the sandisk e260 4gb mp3 player. Where is the best place to get FREE music for this thing?
Thanks,
George

No where. Get iTunes and just pay for the music man.

I am a rebel man! I am not paying the man! Dont make me go find a “real geek”, I like the geeks here!

Rebel? You mean music “theif” right?

Even rebels aren’t too cheap to pay a buck for a song.

the thiefs are all those peeps i pay all that money to for all the TRI gear! But damn,it is good stuff!

technically, i am not a “thief” yet, I havent stolen or “borrowed” any music, YET!

Pathetic. But, if you are going to steal music let me suggest Blue October.

“the thiefs are all those peeps i pay all that money to for all the TRI gear!”

Let me see if I have this straight. You make transactions with businesses, a free-market exchange, in which you VOLUNTARILY pay your money for something you obvioussly value more than said money, and you have the temerity to call them THIEVES? You, sir, are an ass.

And, by the way, it is not “thiefs”.

This isn’t the music thief forum. And theoretically the forum could face legal repercussions if such instructions were posted.

i have been called worse. maybe the free.99 wasnt such a good idea. I will buy the music…Besides itunes and rhapsody, where else can I PURCHASE music?
Thanks again,
George,errrrr ASS!

Skip iTunes because AAC file format is incompatible with your new toy. Based on another Slowtwitcher’s recommendation, I’ve tried www.allofmp3.com. The interface isn’t as user friendly as iTunes but you can download songs for about 15 cents on average.

The problem I have with things outside of iTunes is that your download is in MP3 format that and it sounds like ass on a real sound system and I can not burn disks to put into the car. I for one hate MP3 music as it is missing half of what what it was (if not more). I can tell an MP3 from a CD from a real record in my theater - records sound the best - CD second - MP3 are trash and full of “noise”.

Agreed. I noticed the difference (for the first time) over the weekend when I burned a CD from both AAC and MP3 formats. The AAC songs just sounded better. Overall, though, not a huge concern for me since I listen to downloaded songs mostly with my iPod.

George,
My source for free, well it was onece paid for, music is to download from CDs that you own. It’s becomes pretty neat that all the track, artist, album info gets added as a tag if you choose to add it when you convert to MP3 format. I don’t do this much because I’m to lazy, but prefer to listen to XM radio.
…and I assume that you’ll be training to these song, so you posted here.
OKAY
