Thanks Skip and Gina from USAT for getting Speedo to make these great trisuits for Team USA. Still no padding for bike or back pockets but what the hell…there “made of fastskin”. And it’s Vancouver. Canada’s capital of Pot Heads.
Dave Campbell isn’t this a great country? You get the honor of getting ripped off by Speedo since they slid some money under the table to USAT.
Great country indeed. How lucky are the American triathletes to have such a nice federation. If I’ll post what our own Ukrainian federation have for athletes someone would report that and Slowman would have to delete that image
As a new Team USA member, I am really not appreciating the derogatory comments made in regards to the uniforms.
I am extremely glad that USAT is going with Speedo Fastskin products. I never race with padding or have a need for back pockets. Those things only drag you down. Aren’t you only racing Olympic? How much padding could your ass possibly need? And how much food do you need to cram into that back pocket for a race that should last around 2 hours or so? What exactly are most of the pros wearing? I’ll give you a hint… Speedo Fastskins.
If you have a problem with the uniform, I suggest you write to USAT with your concerns rather than rip on them by posting on Slowtwitch.
You make the assumption he is even good enough to qualify.
When folks do not have the guts to put their real names in their profiles, well, that says all I need to know.
So, even though you did not post your name, are you going to Hamburg? Two weeks and I had better be over the atlantic
as of now!!
And, I have already raced in the speedo, and yep, its is fine. I like the Orca a little better since it has a tiny amount
of padding, but for an Oly, I survived.
Not going to Hamburg… didn’t get to go to Switzerland or Hawaii either. I just can’t afford to travel to races outside of the continental US. Just graduated from college and have other expenses right now. So triathlon is a luxury that I really can’t afford but squeeze in whenever possible.
So my first Worlds experience will actually be Long Course Duathlon Worlds (15k, 76k, 7.5k) in Richmond. It might be a long drive but its one that I’m able to pay for. Funny thing is that I won’t even be swimming but I’m still super excited about the Speedo Fastskins.
Nikki, congrads!!! Yep, I understand about money at your age. Congrads to making it to the Worlds in Long course!!! I still think Du’s are harder than Tri’s.
Yep, LOVE the uniforms, and the honor to be able to wear it. Best of luck in your race!!
How about I give you 10 seconds for every year I'm older than you for the Worlds in Vancouver…and the loser donates $1000 to the winner’s favorite charity.
BTW, having been an ingineer for 30 years, I’ve often wondered what company allows their employees to sit around all day and play on ST? You need to retire.
