NEW S-Works Shoes

My favorite shoe has been upgraded! Wow. Looks awesome: http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/photos/tech-feature-specialized-2010-road-preview/81777

Specialized bringing the juice for 2010.

Yup - went down recently and really messed my right S-works #2 up (along with some nasty road rash). I guess I at least have an excuse … I liked the TdF coverage of them (Specialized must have paid a bundle for all those ads!)

Cool.
Did Spesh fix the sizing issues where size 10 is 42?

Cool shoe, but I like the Tri-Vent even more.

Are those independent BOA closures for the uppers and lowers? Looks pretty cool…

I gotta say, I really dig my Lakes w/ the BOA closures.

And I just bought a pair of 09 S-Works a few weeks ago. As a long time Sidi acolyte, I gotta say … the S-Works are the best shoe I’ve ever worn. Really shockingly, surprisingly good. I rarely feel ebullient about equipment, particularly and especially shoes, but these have me all in a tizzy. Specialized really has it going on when it comes to shoes (and, truth be told, most all accesories). I’m still luke warm at best to their bikes. But the shoes and helmets … homerun.

seriously the s-works shoes are the best shoe on the market, nice to see a really good-looking new model. I’ve had the past two generations in both road & mtn shoes and I’m a complete believer in the boa closure system now. And the s-works helmet is also the lightest & coolest thing i’ve ever put on my head (besides that lampshade one time…)

A+ Specialized keep the hits coming

Spec is awesome. I love these shoes!!! And I’ve never had a sizing issue with Spec.

Agreed. I have both the S-Works helmet and the now-finally-available-to-the-public TT02, and they are the best helmets I’ve used. They have a couple other really outstanding products. Their glasses are first rate. You see a lot of them at the tour, even among teams that aren’t sponsored (or on riders that have nothing else made by them). And I’ve started to see them even more at the races. And as much as it’s hard to praise something as individual as a saddle, their Toupe saddle - for those who like it - is also a homerun.

I was lukewarm at best about the bikes myself for quite a while, but I think this year the bikes - specifically the Tarmac SL3 and especially the Shiv - look great.

Seriously, you like their helmets? I’m riding one because they’re cheap, but damn if it’s not the noisiest helmet I’ve ever worn, other than a TT helmet. To be fair, it is called “Decibel,” perhaps for a reason.

The S-Works helmet is several generations removed from the decibel.

Sure, that’s true. I used to wear Giro helmets, though, and even a cheap one didn’t make me feel half deaf after a short road race like the Decibel does. I haven’t ridden an S-Works helmet, but after wearing low end Specialized helmets, I’m not in a big hurry to.

x2 very comfy and 1/2 the price of the S-Works.

Best place to purchase these shoes? I realize Specialized has 'em, but I’d like to buy from a smaller company if possible.

the decibel was the high-end helmet 3 years ago i think, the S-works helmet is a few steps ahead… lightest thing out there and cool as the other side of the pillow.

definitely worth a try

Where is the tt02 available at?

It seems like the lake boa are even more expensive than the s-works, but you say they are much cheaper??

Jordan,
Have you switched to these shoes yet? If so how do you like them? Thinking about picking them up this afternoon.

Thanks
Ben

wow…any idea of price?

$350 at my LBS, a specialized concept store.
