Anyone worn one of these (with or without the ‘sideburns’ ear covers). They look one of the better TT safety helmets around.
A few thoughts so far on this helmet:
The darn “helmet keeper” thingy that goes around the back of your neck is immensely uncomfortable. When you are in the aero position and look up the road it digs into the back of my neck. That is annoying.
The Elvis style, aero sideburn fairings want to fall off pretty easy.
The shape of the fairing isn’t bladed. Instead, it is kind of “duck billed”, which means when you look down toward the pavement you are deploying a huge air-brake as the tail of the helmet rises upward.
The Limar and Lazer helmets as well as Shain may be more promising…
I was going to push for the specialised TT but the forehead section seems massive on that one as well. I’m trying to find one that has been thoughfully designed but doesn’t make me look like a dork.
I don;t think we can get that Specialized one here in the U.S. that I am aware of- could be wrong on that.
One thing for sure- it is tough to not look like a dork in an aero helmet…
Point taken !
My local cycling shop I race TT’s for has bought the entire stock of the Specialized one in the UK. They look ok in red but looks massive in white. julian gets on well with his LG prologue. I wish i had a smaller head…
Dorky it is then i guess.

I just received mine the other day and i’m really stoked about it. I would take Tom’s comment about looking down with a grain of salt. If you’re looking down to hammer… It SHOULD be to crest a hill or when you don’t have enough gears on chain ring. both cases in which aero dynamics quickly falls down on the list of importance and takes a back seat to power. In a triathlon you should be in aero tuck at least 90% of the time.
Tom does have a point with the fit thingy on the back. I’m fortunate in that the large fits me beautifully and I have a bit of a funny shaped alien head to start with. So it’s not an issue with me.
Like is the common mantra with bikes… Buy the one that fits… Furthermore, this has been said often, but wear it correctly. Tip the helmet back when you get going… It increases the dork factor, but the aero factor is what is important.
