New Road Bike Pjorn

Looks like injuries are causing me to spend this season on the bike. Decided to sell the old road bike and pick up a new rig.
two rides in and I’m lovin’ it. Definitely the lightest bike I’ve owned.

Jamis Xenith Team
Full Dura Ace 7900
FSA K-Light Crank
3T Ergosum bars
3T Seatpost
Fizik Arione Saddle
Zipp 404’s

Sorry for the poor lighting.

Nice - love a black and white look. I’ll post my new crit machine soon, also black/white (Aerocat!)

My $0.02

Lose a few spacers - fit be damned. You’ll get used to it
Black tape instead of the red to secure (although the red is pro)
change cables to black or white from that awful Shimano grey

Is that the biggest size you could get?

Agree about the spacers. I’m going to start with 1cm and go from there. At this point I’m slightly higher than my old bike. I kind of liked the feeling for sprinting out of saddle in drops though. I’ll be dropping it down tomorrow.

The tape I haven’t touched because I was thinking of dumping the bars altogether. I like the ergo bars, but prefer the look of carbon. I actually had PZ Racing 3.2 bars on my last bike and really liked the flat bar.

Cables are a good idea as well. I think white would be pretty hot.

re: the size. I know what you are saying. The frame is the exact same size as my old bike that I rode for 5 years. I’ve just gotten comfortable on it. I’m 5’11" with a 32" inseam. The bike is a 56cm.

A second vote for losing some of those spacers. Not just for appearances but for safety. It looks like it is a good deal more that 40mm which is about max for most forks. Take at least half out cut down the steerer and use a stem with greater rise if you need to be remain higher.

I’ve always kind of wondered about Jamis geometry; even the tricked out rigs on their website have a full stack of spacers so I thought it might be more of a necessity because of a really low front end or something. No idea if that’s the case though. That is one hot ride either way, congrats!

Beautiful.

You’ve done a terrible thing, though, in that now you have absolutely no equipment you can blame for a poor ride.

Sub in a 105 chain or something.

''Ah man, if only the chain hadn’t detrimentally impacted my shifting performance I could have dropped it down a cog fast enough to have jumped on that winning break… worthless 105… "

Genius! What if I just play with the barrel adjusters so it doesn’t shift properly? That’s tonight’s plan.

I use Arione saddles and find they work best when perfectly level - worth a try?

sexy indeed
