New ride and ventus question

It just got put together this week! Will be racing it in Singapore later this month.

Frame is a ttx, with campy record and zero gravity brakes. The cable routing from the ventus looks really clean.

Haven’t had a proper ride yet but the basebar is so thin that it doesn’t look like I should put weight on it…

Does anyone use spacers on the ventus between the basebar and the extensions? I can’t seem to get the screws tight enough to stop the extensions from moving left to right with a little force on them. Maybe this happens on other bars as well? I’ve put some tape in between each layer which seems to help but not sure how long that will last. Any ideas?

Its the yellow 2007 frame. In the light it also looks like it has some red and gold flecks in the paint. I can’t really see that at the moment though cause there’s not much sunshine yet!

I have the exact same setup, except switch my grouppo to SRAM. Anyway, I have the Ventus mounted with no spacers between the sticks and base bar, and it still moved a bit. i went and got some friction paste from my local bike shop (I used the stuff Kuota sends with their bikes to get the seatpost from sliding). Anyway, I put some paste between the basebar and the metal piece that holds the sticks and armpads. snugged it up and left it alone for a while. It seemed to do the trick. Hope that helps.

Thanks, that sounds really good. Hadn’t heard of friction paste before. Just ordered some so I’ll give it a try.
