Is that checkered trim around the windows???

I think it looks like a Boxster crossed with an old dude’s sedan… it’s like a mid-life crisis caught in a self-conflict. And a 4-door Porsche isn’t cool unless it’s a Cayenne.

Leave the sedans to Bentley.

Agreed. The brand has been watered down enough.

this car is direct knock-off of lexus sport sedans.

pretty weak, in my opinion.

very few companies still make products with original ideas behind them.

and porsche becaming the laughing stock of the world as soon as they made
those P.O.S. and ridiculous SUV ‘sports cars’ …

It’s better looking than a Cayenne, but that’s kinda like admitting that your wife is prettier than Ed Asner.

Porsche = Jumped the Shark.

Kind of looks like a four door Mitsubishi.

That car is retarded. On many levels. But it will probably sell.

It is far less retarded than a Cayenne Turbo S

Porsche = Jumped the Shark.

My thoughts exactly.

Has anyone priced one lately? Their charges for optional equipment is stupid expensive!

Pretty bland.

I love all this hate! No one has driven it yet but everyone is singing a death song. Fact is until I drive a car I refuse to make a call. I am a driver first and for most and impressing the public with looks is a waste.

It’s a Porsche!

Yeah, I’m gonna buy a Porsche or other high-performance driving machine when most of my driving is restricted to 30mph limits.

Stranger things happen, I’ve heard of people that over-pay greatly for off-road capable, ghas-guzzling, SUVs, only to go to the grocery store and soccer practice and back home. But, that’s probably and urban legend. Nobody would buy a vehicle like that and not take it off-roading.

Huh? I know people buy shit just to impress the co-workers i just have a problem with that being the only reason people buy cars. The SUV is a prime example of shitty handling, throttle response and not so great storage space bought only to say “LOOK At ME”!

I was agreeing w/ you Tibbs. I was being faceti … err fasesh … uhh faseeti … a smart ass, alright. I was being a smart ass.

=)

Oh! See brother I am such an ass all the time the smart asses out think me.

Horrible. Just horrible. Porsche has I think harmed their image among the cognescenti with the Cayenne, and now this monstrosity. The Cayman, on the flipside, is sublime; and the new 911 looks to be an absolute beast, but in a very good way.

Maybe this is in response to Audi’s new R8, which looks to be a very capable challenger to the 911 in the low almost-affordable exotics category (you know, sports car that only cost in the low 100s). Since Audi has long made exemplary sports sedans and is now making true sports cars with the R8 (although, arguably, the RS4 has always been a true sports car, albeit with 4 doors), Porsche, who has always made true sports cars, is now branching out to sports sedans. Bad idea, I think.

But, what do I know. On my income it’s all theoretical automotive masturbation anyway.

Real Porsches had air cooled engines. Personally, the new ones don’t interest me a bit.

I regret selling my 1960 356B coupe and my 1961 356B Cabriolet. Now they were Porsches!!!

I’m relatively certain that if Ferry Porsche was alive today he’d say that no car that bears his name should have 4 doors.

mo betta

… in 1976 with the 924.

Ya, the 924 was stillborn. I like the latest three generations a lot. The 997’s are fantastic, especially the GT3’s. The 996 GT2 and GT3 and the 993 TT are also on the must have list in my book.

I’ll reserve judgment until I get more details on the four door. It will likely be outclassed (for more $) by Ferarri, no matter what they do with it.
