There are a lot of phones that work with www.bimactive.com Does that count??

Dan,
I use a Timex wrist watch. It works very well. I know that on a three hour ride, I need to turn back at 90 minutes! Never fails! ![]()
Their FAQ says that the app records data on the phone and at some later point the on-phone application is programmed to upload it to your account at the bimactive website.
There are a lot of iphone 3Gs out there and some number of ‘map my route’ applications. Most have crap for ratings, but here’s one that doesn’t and supports route export off the phone - http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=289190494&mt=8. But routes are all you’ll get out of these mapping apps.
There’s also iRPM, n iPhone app that will talk with most of the bike computer sensor hardware via ant+, but doesn’t do GPS. It also uploads data to a website, from what I can tell.
There are bike mounts for iPhones (I’ve got one and it works).
But there doesn’t seem to be a single app on the phone that does it all, if route + traditional bike computer training data is what you want.
There is one for Windows Mobile, though: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-gps-cycle-computer-v3.html . It exports .kml / .gpx files for use in Google maps / Google Earth.
Timex does not have an integrated unit…must be used with an arm reciever. I have this and it works fairly well, but doesn’t fit your criteria.
i use my nokia n82 with the free Nokia Sports Tracker program.
i actually use it in parallel with my garmins - the benefit it has over them is that my partner can see where i am at anytime. not so that she can check up on me, but so that she can track me in case i am back later than expected ![]()
other GPS units…
i found this unit (garmin clone?) at a doscount european store
GEONAUTE
http://www.decathlon.co.uk/...eymaze-500-52466045/
another one that is around in europe is NAVMAN
http://www.amazon.com/...unning/dp/B0009RM4G2
the trouble with this poll is that GPS is used in different ways (which is why i use two GPS units for the same ride!)
you have units to measure your current speed, to navigate, to view post training on map etc…
EDIT: for example… http://www.trackstick.com/ i believe some use this as a training aid, but is a very different type of GPS beast
