Hope that is not it. The 3D model that was floating around and the hype about having a unique fork/stem design are more exciting.
This one seems to be another asian made open mold (TT-233) that is available from a few places for $750.

I agree. It looks like a Blue Tirad with a P2C head tube. Boring…

definitely boring. i too was hoping for a reasonable, more innovative design.

i wonder what you guys are looking for??? just new design for the hell of it… just somehting new to buy even if it s not better?

I think from the pic i see, it wont be the best bike in the world, but it s a smart design…and definitly on the pass planet x frame. If they can keep there price competitive as they done in the past, this new model will find is place in the market…

There last frameset (open mold) as been a unbelivable succes with so many different company selling it under so many different name…

What am I looking for? Good question. With the new models from Giant and Specialized it is hard not to expect something really exotic and different looking as new bikes are being released. So when I call the looks of the new PX bike “boring” it is simply because it looks very vanilla compared to Giant and Specialized. Am I going to buy any of these new bikes? No. I am very happy with my P2C despite that it looks a bit “dated”. Fit (for me) is great and it rides awesome. I can’t think of a bike that will give you more bang for the buck. I will keep riding my P2C for a long time…

I don’t really think it’s fair even comparing PX to Giant or Specialized… or Cervelo for that matter. PX is not doing things in the same way these companies are but what they are doing they are successful with. PX offers an aero shaped carbon frame in severl color choices for a great value. That is why they have been successful, VALUE.

Compare prices of the Specialized and Giant to PX… that wouldn’t be fair either!

I love triathlon but I hate that stupid elitist attitude that everything has to be brand new and expensive to be fast.

definitely boring. i too was hoping for a reasonable, more innovative design.

Then you have to look at Cervelo, Felt and Trek…
On MTB scene boutique brands like Ibis, Moots, Whyte, Seven have more design innovations then bigger brands. Somewhat on the Time trial/triathlon scene this is the opposite. I am thinking not the demand but the cost is a lot higher and you have to fit the designs in a legal standards…

Got my quote sheet from gotobike.com.cn

If you search TT233 or FM233 on google a few other places pop up too.

I was simply commenting on the looks of the bike. I made no mention of price, development resources or how “fast” the bike may be. If that is elitist then I guess I am an elitist.

I wonder how long it will take before Pedal Force is offering a group buy on this frame for about $850 frame, forks and seat post.

Planet X have responded over on TriTalk about the frame…

This is not the design they are working on (with the sexy front end, that will be their own exclusive mold), but ‘could’ be a frame they use as an intermediate step in their 2010 line up. It depends on how well they ride.

According to their comments on Tritalk this fame is more aero than a Focus Walser. If I remember rightly Gerard as previously said that a Walser was as Aero as a P3C. I am unsure if there is any difference aero wise between an Walser and the Focus Walser. If there is not an Planet X’s test are true this would make this frame more Aero than a P3C. Obviously this are not independent test so it is only hearsay - but its interesting to speculate.

Not sure where that would put this frame in comparison to the latest bikes - P4C, Specialized Shiv, New Giant, New Scott etc but interesting. It will also be interesting if they decide to keep on with their new design or just run with this frame.
