I am running the cables for my new P2 and think the bike is set up so there is bare cable running along the chain stay from the BB. Any reason to not just run a single piece of housing all way from the shifter to the rear derailleur? I have to drill out the the plastic cable holder at the end of the stay but that is easy. Thanks.
What’s the benefit? You are correct it is a bare cable, but to me I don’t see why that is an issue. More housing =more friction.
Was thinking that the cable would be gunking up from water and crud with the extra housing ends especially since it exposed at the BB.
I havent had that issue, but I guess it could happen. I would chalk the guide can have a cable seat into the curve before drilling. It would look awkward sticking out

Bare cable is the superior solution, even if the cable did gunk up, it doesn’t matter it isn’t passing through anything.
