I have never done a race where you check your bike in the day before. Do they usually provide floor pumps the day before the race? I’m using latex tubes so I’m going to need it. Does any one know if New Orleans 70.3 has confirmed this?
I could bring my own pump but I’m flying in and I would think it would go missing in transition from people borrowing it.
There will be neutral support there. But, in my years since IMLP 99 I have always taken my pump with me…and then had a line of folks needing air and took care of them. Gave me something to do pre-race and I was able to get some serious good karma points. Bring your pump and crack pipe, help out others who were not so smart.
I think I may set up shop with my cordless inflator, it’s SoPro its rediculous. Like you said, it’s something to do before the race besides freak out, although the swim start in NOLA is about 1mi from transition and I’ll be in an early wave.
It also helps to have someone to hand the pump off to, instead of cluttering up the T area any more than it needs to be.
