New Kestrel TT bike

I wonder why it has a Zipp front wheel and a SRAM rear wheel.

The SRAM is a rebranded Zipp Flashpoint wheel. I’m still curious.

I hope they make it in that really cool dark cherry clearcoat over carbon that they made the 500SCI back in the 90’s. That was one bike I really lusted after, it was truly beautifull.

I dig it, although I wish they were slightly more innovative on the front end with the stem ala Look and Felt.

I guess the old Airfoils should become much cheaper…

I had that bike. It was beautiful.

So when are we going to be able to see this thing up close?

So I let the cat out of the bag so to speak. This is a photo of the new Kestrel bike. It is an RPT, meaing a big hunk of plastic. I released the photo since I’m here in Taiwan at the Taipei Cycle show and knew it would be released from someone else before I had a chance to put it out there.

I’ll follow up with plenty of details but suffice it to say, I designed it in the tunnel and will continue to test it a few more times until I’m satisfied with the results.

As someone noticed the different wheels, we were indeed in the middle of testing run. The goal was to get data on how different parts, wheels, bars, etc. effect the frameset.

More details to follow but lets just say I left the A2 tunnel feeling like a rock star.

Steven,

I hope over the next while you can keep us updated to the progress of the RPT and maybe some of the design elements that you can discuss while working on this project.

From what we can see at this point, it looks very promising and intersting.

Keep up the great work as Kestrel needs a new stead to bring it up to the rest of the pack.
