this thing is incredible. small, light and 512mb for $99. 1 gig for $149. plus it’s a flash drive so no skipping. glad i held off on the mini. check it out here: http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/
cool, but you can’t pick what songs to play, there’s no dispay, and it shuffles the songs and plays random selections.
I’m sold, beeen trying to decide on a mp3 player, Ipod was too expensive for me this is perfect.
My concerns as well…but you can “play in order”. That’s basically all I do with my mini. If I want to skip a song, just go to the next. The drawback here is that you can’t say “let me call up all my Foo Fighter tracks”, or whatever.
Still, pretty cool.
true but you can import a playlist of just foo fighters.
You can burn your CD into ipod-compatible tracks. I don’t think they are “everyday mp3” tracks, they are Apple’s version I think.
But you can put your own CDs onto this. You upload the tracks to the itune software.
TriAlbany is wrong…the iPod shuffle will play “regular” MP3 files, as well as AAC, Protected AAC encoded (the ones sold through ITMS), Kbps), MP3 VBR, AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Audible (formats 2, 3, and 4) and WAV. You don’t need to convert them to AAC format. And you can set iTunes to use MP3 formate instead of AAC when you rip CDs to ensure maximum compatibility with other devices.
