Please correct me if I’m wrong but does the HED 3 on Lance’s TT steed look slightly deeper than the norm?
Must be right on the UCI limit.
That means that I’ll have to get one now

I thought the same thing. Maybe it just looks deeper with the new carbon rim?

What UCI limit?
Do a search- there was a thread about this earlier. Actually, it was about his teammate Ekimov who used the wheel in a TT earlier this year. It’s just a deeper rimmed version of the Hed3. Supposedly they don’t use it often because it can get ugly in crosswinds and is heavier than a normal Hed3. I don’t believe they have an all-carbon version of it yet (the aluminum rim weighs more).
It’s just the HED 3 Deep that’s been around for a year or two in prototype form. Some pro triathletes have even raced using one on some non-drafting Olympic distance races. Apparently, it’s pretty fast, huh?
The one he had was an all-carbon version though.
