Good article Tom, any thougths on the fact that you had to give this years Laguna Phuket race a pass?

I was too busy and was recovering from a cold. I wasn’t looking forward to 22 hours on a plane at the tail end of a bad cold and then a tough race while I was in shitty shape at the same time knowing my employees were back here trying to take up the slack for me.

Our store did nearly three times the gross sales in November '04 than it did in November '03. It wasn;t fair to leave the guys holding the bag here while I was off fiddling around- especially considering the entire year prior I had been to Curacao, New Zealand, France, Hawaii, Arizona, Las Vegas, Dominican Republic and a couple other places I forgot.

I had a choice between going to Thailand alone, in shitty shape, sick and overworked or staying here, getting well, making some more money and then going to Arizona with a buddy of mine for a nice Thanksgiving and to hang out on my birthday.

I took the later. It was a good decision. I’ll be back in Thailand soon, I’d like to even go as part of the relief effort to volunteer to rebuild Patong if such a program exists through Habitat for Humanity or Americorp. And I’ll also be back there for sure for the race.
