Basso will be racing it at the US Pro Cycling Challenge.

That seatpost just looks dumb. I hope the production version is modified to NOT comply with the UCI 3:1 rule.

Aero bike designed by Futurists. Maybe it will grow on me.

The seatpost and the pie cutter behind it do look curious.

nice bike which I would ride if free. But that thing is fugly.

As I said in another thread, I love 90% of that bike. I think the brakes are perfect, love the bb area, and the front end is awesome. That leaves the seat tube, the other 10%. I would still ride it, as most bikes have something I don’t like.

It’s like the Shiv’s slightly less attractive cousin…

I didn’t see Basso on it today.

Yeah, he was riding the standard Slice frame today. I was at the Prologue and stopped by the Cannondale tent. They had every high-end model Cannondale on display except for the new Slice (the Hi-Mod was on display).

I walked by the Liquigas bus several times and the mechanics were futzing with the new Slice (with Basso’s name on it) for at least 2 hours. My guess is that it doesn’t work yet.

It’s been raced before, but yeah, maybe “technical issues” on that particular bike…

I like Cannondales a lot and wanted to like this bike, but the rear end (seatpost and cluster) is pretty ugly to me. The rest, I like a lot.

Ugly and misproportioned seatpost? Yes but that doesnt mean it isn’t the fastest it can be. Would you rather a proven fast one or one that is less aerodynamic that looks like everyone elses?

The seatpost does look funny but I really dig the rest of the bike.

If the numbers show it’s the fastest, it becomes the next thing since sliced bread and everyone will be trading in their Speed Concepts and P4’s.

clincher rear-tubie front
grease on the chain stays
that has to be a flexy seat post (unless there is some internal ribbing or something)
the shifters aren’t level
how is that rear wheel cutout not being called a fairing? it EXTENDS rearward!
that black paint on the BB makes it look all squared off and ‘edgy’

i dig the internal brake cable routing for the front v-brakes!

my gawd that is an ugly bike… i’m thinking a different paint scheme and seat post would fix it for the most part though.

Anybody have a guess on the geometry/stack and reach of this new slice? Will it be the same as the old? Looks a little longer, but that could just be the external steerer. The bb also doesn’t seem to be dropped as previous models.

i dont care how much better of a bike it is, last year’s model was way nicer.

If I won this bike I would sell it and buy a Shiv or a Speed Concept… Ugliest new bike on the market! What are they thinking?

hah that’s a good way to put it…

if anyone wants last year’s slice, this was posted yesterday. very tempting

Maybe they were thinking the fastest shape they could come up with would have a market?

Styrrell

I am thinking that a couple more male pros just got themselves chicked at Kona…

Honestly people its a race tool, not a fashion statement.
