Considering the Bontrager or Hed composite bars with S bends.
I would like the pads to be as low to the base bar as possible. Any comments about these bars would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I’ve worked with both. I wasn;t as enamoured with the Bontragers as I am with the Hed bars. The Hed bars are vey, very good because they are so tunable.
The bontragers are nicely made and cosmetically attractive but not nearly as adjustable, functional or technically refined as the HEd bars in my opinion.
Specifically, the Bontrager pads are too small, too high, too thivk and poorly shaped in my opinion. Although the finish and molding of the base bars is superb on the Bontragers they do not include an integrated brake lever and that is a serious shortcoming in comparison to Hed, which has a very good lever, and Visiontech, with their small (excellent) crab-claw lever.
Companies like HED and Visiontech have raised the bar very high with their integrated aerobars. At this stage, I think everyone else is second tier in comparison.
