Well, the day is nearly 14 hours old in Dearborn, and still there is no post from the afore mentioned premises. There must be one hell of a lot of custom filing in and out the shop today. I’m guessing the coach is full and they take a number and are being directed to wait at Starbucks or Einstein’s!
This could also explain why April 10 was the last editorial! Man, I miss my weekly bulletin. Then again my r2.5 could have arrived and all the goodies are being hung on it. Ooo.
When’s your next trip over the pond? I’m going to be doing some work near Windsor, ON the week after next, so I’ll be making the ST Pilgrammage myself…
Nah - I already have a damn near perfect fit, with the only “restriction” being that I’m away so much of the time that I don’t get to spend as much time riding as I’d like. Between Ves building the bike customized to my measurements and the SmartAssFit I got in Arizona, I doubt that Tom (or anyone, really) could improve my position very much outside of a wind tunnel. I would like to watch him fit someone though…
I really don’t have a “valid, concrete reason” why I should make the trip other than I want to meet the legend that is Tom, and see his store. That and it’d be a shame to be so close and then not…
Absolutely, it would be a shame not to pop in and say Hi. Perhaps there is a bikesport technical T you could pick up, it would be a hoot to go in wearing a peaceful tribe T!
I came in to get ready for the local club time trial, which I was going to do. The fit schedule was so full that I couldn;t leave though. There were bikes scheduled to be picked up and new fittings coming in. There were bikes that needed crank, handlebar and stem changes and that means re-cabling the entire drivetrain and brakes. I did a 2 hour surgery on a Felt S32 this fella wanted an entire Visiontech cockpit on and different cranks. Lots of work. There was no way I was going to the time trial today. One of the guys from our shop, Steven McMahon, won the race though.
Bryce wants to know if there is a local TT on the weekend of the 18/19th June when we are over. Pass on my congrats to Stevie, hope he went hard enough to puke, or is that just on the CT he does that
Well, the hottest ticket of the season and one of my favorite triathlons from anywhere in the world is the Maumee Bay Triathlon on June 19th. It is a fantastic race, Olympic distance, beautiful, flat course, majestic landscape (for us) and just an incredible event.
Can I reply to both posts above and say that if that girl is on the start line, with that post, I will be there using any ole transport you are to mention…
No, Stephen didn’t puke. We teased him for holding back and not giving it his best effort. He’s well known for doing monster pulls on group rides and then pulling over to toss his cookies or taking a flyer off the front until he’s out of sight and then you’ll ride by him on the side of the road later on and he’ll be “lightening” his load for the rest of the ride home. I think his nickname should be “rocket”.
Yes, there is a Club TT scheduled for June 18th @ 9:00 AM. We’d love to have you stop by and give it a go. You and Bryce could lend it an “international” flavor.
I wanted to do that TT. I had all my stuff here. Then the world hit and everyone wanted their bike yesterday when they saw the weather forecast. That cancelled my life for the next 24 hours.
