I have been training on a €300 old bikenfor the last 6 months. Am doing lanzarote this week and got a P2sl - done two 1 hour rides - should I use it.

I wouldn’t. Any advantage you got from the lighter faster bike would probably be outweighed by the aches and pains of the new position.
Plus 2 hours isn’t enough of a shake down to bed down the new components to see if anything comes loose.
Do it on the cheap one, and then next year see what difference the new one makes.

if you can EXACTLY immitate the old position on you p2 - use it! but also use your old saddle and pedals.
imho there’s always a benefit in using a feel-fast bike
