New Bike (10)

Lookin to get a new tri bike. I’m trying to stick ~$1600 (hard to do when i want carbon) and after a disappointing purchase online, i’ve gone to the local bike store and was paired up with a 2008 Giant Trinity Alliance 1. It’s a good fit and decent bike (carbon/aluminum frame, 105/Ultegra components, xero wheels, easton aluminum aerobars) at a great price…$1600 out the door. anyone have any experience with giant bikes? the one thing that has me curious is the mixed aluminum/carbon frame. any input is greatly appreciated.

suss!!!

especially when there are numerous reviews on this site

Sorry to hear that you had a bad online experience but I know someone who just two weeks ago bought a QR Seduza with a DA/Ultegra/FSA mix for $1500. Saw it yesterday and I haveto say I think that for a full carbon framed bike that is capable of providing great performance and worthy of upgrade it was a smokin’ deal.

I have a 2009 Trinity Alliance frame with SRAM Red components. The frame is excellent - very stiff and responsive and quite quick. I don’t know how it tests in the wind tunnel, but the bike won’t be the thing holding you back. If I had $10K free to spend on a bike, I still would have the Giant in my top 5 to consider. I really love it.

I have the 2008 Giant Trinity Alliance 1. Got it in December so have only put on trainer miles. 800 so far and no complaints. Love the bike, love the price.
