New Bicycle Sports site is up

New and improved site is up. Haven’t looked around much, but it looks like it has a lot more bells and whistles.

But no Cerevelo or Felt. Darn!

And their San Francisco store is dead.

Seems JC’s BS is a flash in the pan.

That’s a pretty empty statement dts… What factual evidence do you have to back that up?

DTS;

I must agree with the reply to your post. You have no facts about Bicycle Sports and our organization. It is indeed true that the San Francisco store is closed. That location is closed for two reasons and two reasons alone. We had a poor location and made an incorrect decision in the management of the shop when it opened. We have closed that shop and have negotiations in the works to move the shop to the Walnut Creek area.

As far as us being a “flash in the pan”, I will not comment and let our actions in 2004 speak for themselves.

One other tidbit of information for Slowtwitch members in CA- Look for a Bicycle Sports shop to be open in Orange County in the next 6 months…

As always, if you would like to discuss this topic or any other topic, I encourage you to call me at 800-365-2453.

Any reason why the St. Paul, MN isn’t listed? I know it’s still open, or at least it was on Tuesday when I was there!

Ben had not turned in his info on his store when Bicycle Sports got back on line. He is alive and kicking.

Any chance Bicycle Sports is going to open a store in New Jersey/New York City area in the future? I’m positive that, around here, one of your stores would (by default) immediately become the tri-store to go to. The swim shops in the area, don’t carry much tri-specific swim gear. Also, that tri/bicycle shop in Brooklyn needs to get over itself. Big selection with an even bigger opinion of themselves. Many bike shops around here claim to sell tri-related gear, but more often than not, they don’t stock what I’m looking for. “Would you like us to order it for you?” is the usual reponse I get when asking for something. Another standard response when asking to be fit is, “stand over this bike… how does it feel?.. do you like it?” No wonder people from around here travel hundreds of miles out of state just to be fit properly.

IMO, you guys would have a very easy time acquiring the majority of the tri sales in this region.

Thanks for reading this.

amen to that.

we need a store here, bad.

and to compound the brooklyn’s store’s attitude… it’s in brooklyn, man. that’s far.

I too once held an unfavorable opinion about “that Brooklyn bicycle shop” but after recently purchasing a new road bike from them, getting fitted there and actually talking and joking around with the whole gang running the show there I felt sort of silly about being turned off by my previous perception of their collective attitude. Great service, great inventory, great mechanics, a great fitter, and the owner knows his stuff like few others (oh yeah: and when you look up at the ceiling you get to see hanging up high more De Rosas, Pinarellos, Colnagos, Treks, Felts, Cervelos etc etc, than anywhere I’ve ever been).

I should also add my tri-bike was purchased from Bicycle Sports (Cody helped me out wonderfully) and I think the service there was also stellar. There’s room in NYC for Bicycle Sports and “that Brooklyn store” and I would probably regularly visit both stores. Perhaps a little competitive pricing would, in the end, be helpful around here.

Anyone know when the “rumored” Tampa Bay area store is scheduled to open?
