New balance 1190

Its been out a few months now. Any 905 user try this replacement yet? I will miss my 905’s very much and hope this is a good replacement.

.

I never used 905s, but I’ve had my 1190s for about two months now. They are my go-to shoe for long runs and races now. Have done a sprint and a half IM in them. Very light, not much comfort in the upper, but I wear my shoes pretty loose and wear a 2E, and wanted a lightweight stability shoe, so it fits the bill. For trail races, I’ll skip on the 1190s and stick with my Sir Isaac Newtons as the upper has a bit more padding for the rocks that hit the sides of your feet, but for fire roads and asphalt I’ll stick with the 1190s.

Wish you had used the 905’s before. I have heard you need to size down on the 1190’s. Go buy a pair of 905’s if you can find them and let me know.

Thanks for the info

x2 on missing my 905s. I have run for years in the 9 series (901 through 905) and went out and bought 4 pairs when they discontinued the 905. So many people loved the 905–beyond me why they feel the need to screw up such a good thing. Let me know if you like the 1190, please.

Will do

@phil - you might want to look at the 890s as a replacement. My brother is in a pretty run-heavy police training program and has done quite well in them - light shoe with a snug fit. Slightly different category, I know, but he’s picky and he seems to like them.

I just tried a pair (1190’s) at the Chicago marathon expo, I liked them, they felt similar to the new Blur33’s. Very bouncy with a nice upper.

thx, they look good.
