I am going with a 54/39 setup with an 11/23 cogset. The big ring is a FSA.

I like a bigger front ring, because it gives you greater range. Over here near Mt Diablo, we kinda needs our climbin’ gears, but what goes up must come down. So there isn’t quite as much overlap of ratios and when I shift the front rings I have to shift the rear at the same time of the jump is a bit much. A small price to pay.
The 11/23 makes sense too. 39-23 is a decent climbing gear for even a poor climber like me, and those ratios should be close together (IMO)
